“Make Me Cry” is a track about gathering strength in the face of a romantic betrayal, packaged as dance floor-ready breakbeat-pop. It plays to CIFIKA’s strengths- well- crafted melodies and layered polyphony.

“This song went through many versions- keeping the same meanings and feelings but totally changing the components, like the melody or the words. I wanted to make the bass and drums rhythmic and strong, like some of my favorite breakbeat tracks. But I went through a lot of different versions with the melody to find the one that felt the most persuasive.”
